Cancer Center Walk/Run

On October 18, the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara in conjunction with the Four Seasons Resort Santa Barbara, will host the 17th annual Cancer Center Walk/Run. As in the past, 100% of the proceeds from our run benefit cancer research at the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara, a local non-profit cancer treatment center.

Many cancer survivors will participate in the event and can be recognized by the buttons they wear which state"I'm a survivor!"

Last year nearly 800 people took to the streets of Montecito, raising more than $180,000 for local cancer research. Since the inception of the event nearly $1.8 million has been raised. These funds are used to support participation in national adult and pediatric cancer research studies involving eligible patients seen by Santa Barbara area oncologists. In addition, two post-doctorate fellowships in basic science research are funded at UCSB.
